Pros

Cost (Servings Per Bottle)

Don’t miss this deal! At just $1.36 per serving, you can get a whole tub online right now for $36.95, giving you 27 servings.

That’s just under $40 a month for protein powder. While you can probably find something more affordable, there are some special features about this powder that I feel might be worth the extra money!

Formula

Each serving offers 25g of casein protein in 120 calories. I really appreciated that the tub had a nice graphic on the side, which showed me exactly what I was putting in my shake. For example, it shows how much of each Amino Acid is in the casein protein and that the formula follows the industry standard 2:1:1 ratio.

One thing that I like is that Dymatize Casein Elite has 0 sugar and only 2 carbs per serving.

Mixability

I mixed this up with filtered water in my water bottle, it only took about 20 seconds to shake it until it was fully blended. It was really convenient to mix this up in the middle of a busy day when I didn’t have much time to eat.

The Dymatize Elite Casein has a richer and foamy texture, which is commonly associated with casein powder. It was pretty smooth, nothing too surprising about it.

Additional Certifications

One cool feature that demonstrates the quality of Dymatize comes from the ‘Informed Choice’ quality assurance program. Dymatize uses ‘Informed Choice’ to make sure that their products are regularly tested for banned substances by the sports anti-doping lab, LGC.

Cons

Flavor

I’ll be honest, this is not my favorite vanilla flavor. I would rate the flavor a 6/10. It has a powdered milk or fake vanilla flavor, which is not appealing to me.

However, I’m sure this would be fine if you mixed it up in the blender with some strawberries and almond milk for a more desirable flavor. With just plain water, it was a little lackluster.

Final Rating: Average

Okay, so is this the best casein protein?

I think that Dymatize’s Elite Casein powder is a reliable and standard supplement for athletes. While the mixability is good, the flavor doesn’t rate quite as high, and there are more affordable options out there.

However, the company has a great reputation and a long history of producing great products, which is a huge plus.

I would definitely try the chocolate flavor option from Dymatize to see if I like that one more, but overall, the Dymatize Elite Casein receives an average rating from me.

Why Supplement with Casein Protein Powder?

If you’re looking for something different than a traditional fast-acting Whey Protein, slow-digesting Casein Powder could be for you.

Research shows that Casein Protein can help with satiety and curb overeating.

Additionally, Casein Protein contains a little less lactose than Whey Protein Concentrate, which could be a nice alternative for lactose-sensitive folks.

Lastly, Casein Protein contains all of the essential amino acids that we can’t produce on our own and need to get in our food and supplements.
